I thought I must talk about a recent series on ZEE5 that caught my attention. Chargesheet: innocent or guilty? is a ZEE5 originals and a nail biting murder mystery with an interesting  and intriguing plot.

So, my dear friends talking about our ZEE5 original series Chargesheet, let us examine and rate this series in this bogpost today.

Let me start by saying that if you are looking for a nail biting, thriller that has loads of twists and turns then “Chargesheet” is the series for you right now and you should not miss it.

The series Chargesheet is written by Priyanka Ghatak and is a story that revolves around the murder in broad day light of Shiraz Malik a 26 year old sportsman (played by Shiv pandit), who is a seven-time national Table Tennis Champion and also Commonwealth Gold medal-winner!

A mix of romance, politics, royalty, sports and sex, Chargesheet will leave you with many questions in your mind.

One of the most talked about cases of the 80’s, this is a story that resembles a lot with a much talked about murder case in the 80’s of Syed Modi who was a bright badminton player and also an Indian badminton singles player. He was eight-time National Badminton champion! However, this is just a speculation and it can be sheer co-incidence too.

Zee5 series Chargesheet, revolves around the people who are under suspicion and targeted by CBI.

The needle of suspicion falls on Shiraz’s wife, which looks quite an unusual suspect in the beginning but as the story progresses, I couldn’t stop thinking about her connection in the whole plot. Shiraz’s wife Antara malik is also shown as a struggling table tennis player in the beginning of the series. (portrayed by Tridha Choudhury).

In beautiful floral sarees, Antara looked sensuously attractive. She portrayed both happiness and fear in her role really well.

In addition to the above, CBI also suspects the usual pawn, who is Antara’s alleged lover and their mutual friend, politician Ranveer Pratap Singh, played by Arunoday Singh, who happens to be from a political background.

Arunoday in the series was from a royal family that too with a political background. He is rich, has power, looks confident, and is a competent political leader. He is an expert and a seasoned manipulator too.  I liked every bit of Arunoday. Right from his outfits to the way he talks in every situation is admirable.

Also, do not forget Hrishitaa Bhatt who is seen in a completely different avatar and plays wife of politician Ranveer Pratap Singh. Saree clad Hrishitaa is trying to be a good wife and mother. From being sweet to sad she too represented the mental state of a wife well, whose husband cheats on her.

Though off topic, I sometimes wonder is that a life every woman lives in a politician’s house? I mean don’t get me wrong but have we seen any other picture of women from such background doing anything else apart from setting the dining table and preparing meals? Well, whatever…let’s move on…shall we?

After watching the series, I am sure that I loved the casting done in this series. Each and every character was so on point!

Directed by Shashant Shah, it is a mix bag of masala but it is not just any masala series. It is a series where each character was lived up to the expectation.

I am from Uttar Pradesh and the way the courtroom scenes and the way both UP and MP are shown, this dramatic series looks actual and true!

The first 5 minutes show the end of a star in India and then starts the race to catch the killer by CBI officer played by Sikander Kher, whose presence is impressive in the series. I always think Sikander Kher is an under rated actor. He should do more series and short films ????.

Chargesheet is an unrestrained package comprising of how things get different when politics is involved, courtroom and judicial procedures, love triangle and what not. I sincerely felt bad for Shiraz in the series. He was an honest, talented and a man in love with his wife unconditionally.

Antara just threw away a diamond to pick up a rock!

Chargesheet is a good entertainer with good acting and a solid story. Do let me know your comments below if you already saw the series. What’s next? I will catch you later. Do not forget to

Meanwhile, I hope that you all are regularly and thoroughly cleaning your hands with a good hand wash, and sanitising using an alcohol-based sanitizer.
