Contouring and highlighting is fun, if you know how to do it in a right way!!! Sculpting can change your looks drastically ….you can take control of your features but if it goes wrong …….(no comments 😛 ) Simple it may seem but, it’s actually tricky and I am new to this subject. To try my hands on contouring I ordered Sleek contour kit online in the shade light so read on to know what I think……

Direction for Use:-

Cheekbones:

Using a contour brush, apply the contour powder, starting from the ear gently blending towards the direction of your mouth using quick feather-like strokes, blending as you to go, to ensure a soft natural line
Apply the highlighter lightly to the apples of the cheeks for an illuminated glow.

Nose:

Apply contour powder along the side of the nose creating a straight line
Avoid harsh lines by blending in, repeat same steps for both sides
Apply the highlighter down the centre of the nose and blend

Jawline:

Apply contour powder down the neck, darkening it slightly close to the jawline to add strength and definition
Blend and shade thoroughly so that there are no harsh lines
Blend highlighter powder lightly above the jawline to draw focus up to the facial area

My Experience With Sleek Makeup Face Contour Kit In Shade Light

Comes in a very slim, classic, sleek packaging. It looks classy and since it has a mirror, it’s quite easy to travel with…I am so in love with this cute and compact kit.

When you open you see that it has two pans, the matte contouring shade in the larger pan and the shimmery highlighter in the small pan.

I have a fair medium skin tone and the shade light is just perfect for me. The contour shade is medium brown with very slight orange undertones and it is superbly pigmented and the fact that it is finely milled makes it easily blendable. All I had to do was-

– Be cautious with the quantity taken in the brush. Just use as little as possible and buildup as and when required

– Use a good quality brush, a cheap and tacky brush can ruin the whole idea completely

– Blend, Blend and Blend to make it look natural

This can also be used as a bronzer. 🙂

Coming to the highlighter, it’s a peachy gold shade with fine shimmer in it. Pigmentation is very light as compared to the contour shade, I love it for the fact that it is peach ( and not silver) and compliments Indian skin tone, just one stroke of the brush is enough to give a natural glow to the face which reflects light beautifully. The color is very light and general tendency would be using more color and multiple strokes to build it up (been there, done that) but that will end up making your face too shimmery and artificial….avoid that please.

The quality and texture is superb, now coming to the staying power. This is where this kit can lag behind. It stays for four hours after which it starts fading, this is the time calculation in winter season so I am expecting lesser staying time during summers.

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER“- This is my first ever contour kit so I can’t compare it for obvious reasons but given the fact that it has worked well for a beginner like me, makes it a great option. Would have made it to the A list if longitivity would have been higher but anyways I love it.
