Satin lipstick Mac SPIRIT: Review, Swatches

Monthly PMS can drive your mind crazy! That’s what happened to me when I picked up this shade. It’s a story how and when it happened. I get all weird thoughts, get very emotional and feel like crying :/  (lol) yes its true! Let me know if it’s same with you girls too and what can be done to overcome these syndromes.

What MAC Says about the product: Color plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.

My Experience With Mac Spirit Satin Lipstick

I still remember, I asked MAC’s MUA to match me a perfect n*de lipstick  and she asked me to go with MAC Spirit. I was about to make my payment and all of a sudden I noticed a bright shade standing next to Mac Mehr and it was MAC candy yum yum (permanent) and what next, a bright lipstick lover immediately dropped the offer of MAC spirit and brought CYY. BTW do see the swatches of 8 Mac Lipsticks Here Including CANDY YUM YUM !!!! 

After few days of buying CYY again I went MAC store to pick a nude shade for me which was then OOS :/ :/ I cursed myself for not buying it that moment. Mood swing is definitely the first thing to observe during pms (atleast for me).  Sometimes you want something but later see yourself buying something else. Feel like eating samosa, but next moment you find yourself sitting with an ice-cream tub. #sigh  *facepalm*. Complete nuts!! Anyways let’s move on to actual review.

MAC SPIRIT is muted pinky- beige brown shade that has satin finish. It is sheer to medium color, goes on opaque in 2-3 swipes. I love the texture of satin finishes. Neither it is hard as matte nor glossy. It isn’t creamy like amplified, creamsheen formulas.

On me it looks less brown and muter pinky beige. MAC spirit is a shade which can be called as a perfect n*de shade for numerous skin tones. However for pale skin tones it can look more brownish than pink beige colour. I am NC 35-37 in MAC studio fix and Mac Spirit is on my top 2 perfect nude shade after MAC YASH. MAC Spirit adds slight hint of colour to my lips which looks very natural MLBB shade- my own natural lip color but better! Satin “n*des” can look little flat and hence, I like my nude lips to be little glossy. Therefore, I apply little clear lipgloss over any of my nude lip colour. The glossiness will give an illusion of fuller and defined lips!

MAC Spirit applies smoothly on lips without any pulling effect. It does not dry out my lips. It looks amazing with any type of heavy Smokey eye makeup. Appropriate for day and night use. It lasts on me for 4-5 hours without munching.

2)   Thank god. It is from permanent range.

3)   Perfect with dramatic smokey eyes.

4)   Appropriate for daily use.

5)   Staying power is more than 4 hours. MAC lipsticks always last for long time.

6)   Love Satin formula. Does not dry out lips. Feels light and moisturized.

7)   No tugging or pulling. Goes smoothly on lips

8)   It can be a lovely nude for many skin tones.

9)   Lovely Vanilla Scent!

Turn Off:  MAC spirit a satin finish lipstick

1)   Not suitable for darker skin tone.

2)   May accentuate dry lines if not moisturized prior application.

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”- I love the shade so much, that I don’t mind to have one as a backup. Those who think it gives you brownish hues are wrong unless you are too pale. Mac Spirit is one n*de shade that I keep in my hand bag; therefore it is one of my most used lip colors. Do give it a try next time you go to MAC store. This shade is seriously too n*de to be perfect! 😀
