We all know that bleaching has some side effects on the skin, hence many people avoid using it and the main culprit is Ammonia that is present in the activator. But, if I tell you that there is bleach which is gel based and ammonia free, what will be your REACTION???????????? OK OK wait ….read my review first.

WHAT IT CLAIMS: An Ammonia free bleach with the unique combination of aloe Vera and oxygen in a gel format. Infused with active Oxygen, it opens clogged pores, gently removes dead skin and tan, lightens skin tone and gives flawless fair skin. Aloe Vera is a natural skin conditioning agent that moisturizes skin making it ultra soft.

Benefits (as mentioned on the leaflet):

Clears away tan

Removes dead skin cells

Reduces hyper pigmentation

Reduces uneven skin tone

Results in bright youthful glowing skin

MY EXPERIENCE WITH OXY LIFE ALOE VERA GEL BLEACH:

DSCN1981

This gel bleach comes in a green round cardboard tub with a metallic lid. (I still wonder why??????) Enclosed in it, are the gel bleach cream and the activator. The cream is a transparent gel with a hint of green to it (exactly like aloe Vera gel) and the activator is a pale green powder which is mildly perfumed.

ACTIVATOR

The cream and the activator have to be mixed in 7:1 ratio and applied on the skin for 10 or 15 minutes depending upon the skin tone ( 10 minutes for wheatish skin tone and 15 minutes or more for fair complexioned. (Don’t forget to do a patch test first.)

After applying this mixture on my face I could sense mild tingling that I usually get while bleaching. Thankfully it did not have that pungent Ammonia smell that can burn your nostrils. After keeping it for good 20 minutes I noticed that it had revived my dull, tired looking skin. There was freshness and glow to my face but it did not bleach my facial hair at all.

I had decided that this product is going to get a zilch but when I read the text on the packaging and leaflet again, nowhere was it written that it’s going to bleach facial hair so I should not judge it on that front. Basically it did a good job at improving the way my skin looked. I feel it can be used best as a pre-facial treatment.

SWATCHES OF THE PRODUCT – (ON MY HAND IS THE BLEACH, ON MY FINGER IS THE GEL)

TURN ON: OXY LIFE ALOE VERA GEL BLEACH

1)    Gel bleach is non greasy hence it is suitable for all skin types.

2)    Infused with oxygen which helps in Imparting glow to the face.

3)    No ammonia.

4)    Fades tan to some extent.

5)    Easily available

TURN OFF: OXY LIFE ALOE VERA GEL BLEACH

1)    Ingredient list not properly defined.

2)     The activator contains persulphates but what kind of persulphates?????

3)    Does not bleach facial hair so the whole point of my bringing the bleach gone to waste.

4)    Mild tingling which can bother some people.

5)    Quantity ( they say 3 uses but it can be only used twice)

COSMOCHICS RATING: 4/5

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”- oxy life gel bleach can be a boon for people with oily skin and those who are looking out for tan removal or want that glowing skin for special occasions. But if u are looking out for something that bleaches facial hair, then you can’t escape Ammonia. (I guess…I know nothing of any other method)

WE LOVE TO HEAR FROM OUR READERS:

DO YOU USE BLEACH TO BLEACH FACIAL HAIR?
