Hello ladies I am writing about New Born Baby Essentials today. This is my ultimate checklist. All of the below mentioned items I have used as soon as the baby was born. Therefore, I highly recommend to check this list. Above is my son’s picture, very close to my heart!
You must be wondering why such a list. Ladies it is just about getting ready for the big day…so why not!
In addition to this, there are lot of things that you do not need just after the birth. Below are such items which you will need right away.
Clothing: You need to get size zero for the newborns. Other sizes are too big for the newborns and I personally don’t like to fold clothes and make baby look like a sack!
- Bodysuits and onesies: babies fit well and these bodysuits are cosy enough and keeps the child warm
- 4 pair of socks. Some bodysuits do not cover feet like onesies and therefore socks are must.
- Caps: I got 4 tie top cotton caps from Jabong . Check this for an idea HERE
- Scratch mittens, very important
- Vests size zero (if you can find one 😛 )
Feeding: I breastfeed but my friends gave me a very important advice. And that was to be prepared for everything. Therefore, I got bottles too as early days the milk production is less and you might end up giving formula milk an add-on to the baby.
- Nursing bras
- Breast pads you will need too.
- Milk bottles 120 ml is needed in the beginning
- Bottle brush
- Bottle cleaning detergent
- Feeding pillow
- In addition to the above, few cotton cloths or towels that are usable while feeding. So let me tell you that if you feed from one side your breast can leak from the other side so you need to cover it.
- Formula milk powder will be advised by the doctor so do not buy it in advance.
- Bibs
- Burp cloths
Diapering: There are women who still follow the techniques when it comes to diapering. Handmade cotton nappies for example. I didn’t use cloth diapers. Moreover, it is just a choice that you make.
- Diapers and diaper bag
- Diaper cream is a must if you are using diapers
- Baby wet wipes and wash cloths
- Diaper changing mat
- Reusable urine absorbent sheets like these HERE
Bath items: It is your choice to use organic products or not. I buy all products that my baby’s doctor recommends. Sebamed, Aveeno baby, Himalaya baby and Dove baby products. I shall review the products that I use very soon.
- Baby bather
- Baby soap, soap case, face cream, body lotion, baby hair oil, baby massage oil, soft towels, baby hair shampoo, gentle laundry detergent, cream to powder like this Burt’s Bee product (as I don’t use powder)
Other necessities: baby thermometer, nail clippers, ear bud, tongue cleaner, comb, carry nest like this or a convertible baby carrier (car seat), baby stroller, cotton balls, etc.
