Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Collection : Review & Swatches

Hey Guys,

Maybelline had a spring/summer launch called the rebel bouquet collection and I have tried 2 shades from the lipsticks range and one of their go graffiti nail paints, so lets have a look at what offerings the collection has for us and also read on to know my take on the products that I have tried.

1. The Color Sensational Rebel Bouquet Lipsticks   

Now lips blossom with attitude as pastels go bold and rebellious! Taking inspiration from the Rebel Bouquet Collection that encapsulates the trendiest shades for this Spring Summer, Color Sensational- Maybelline New York’s power franchise at the helm of new shades and textures brings to you Color Sensational Rebel Bouquet. This range of six flirty, edgy and fresh floral shades is perfectly in-sync with this season. The Rebel Bouquet lipsticks consist of pure pastel bright pigments that give crisp and rich colour. The colour bloom technology with honey nectar formula makes the texture feel creamier and softer on the lips. Now pout in the most gorgeous shades.

Price: Rs.450

The packaging is same as the Maybelline colorsensational lipsticks with a red transparent cap. They had and outer film with Rebel written in a pretty floral font (if that font exists!!) but it has to be removed once you open the lipsticks. Forgive me guys I got too excited and just could not wait to reveal the shade, I ripped it open as soon as I got it, hence no pictures of the floral font that I was talking about. 🙂

Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Colorsensational REB 02 Lipstick

REB 02 ????? Maybelline names please!!!!! Yes it creates a problem, the other day I was recommending this shade to my friend and I just could not recollect the number….or maybe I am too bad at this one plus it becomes a pain to decode and dig the shade out of your stash!!!!

This colour REB 02 is a very pretty bright pink colour with a slight undertone of orange that brightens up the pink and when applied brightens up the face. It will look great on fair skin tones but fares well on medium and dark complexion as well.

First swipe goes a bit patchy but second coat gives you that perfect juicy pink pout that looks amazing. The Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Colorsensational lipsticks glide on smoothly and are very moisturising. they render high shine when freshly applied and the shine fades away after some time. These have  balmy texture so its great for dry lips as well. Lightweight and lasts for about 3 hours straight after which they start fading. They will not survive meals and will need touch ups as they are transferable.

Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Colorsensational REB 04 Lipstick

A beautiful coral with red undertones that is more pigmented than REB 02, it goes opaque in just one sweep however two sweeps make it look better. It stays for 4 hours unlike REB 02 but thats just a minor difference due to the pigmentation and shades. The shade is very bright but not over the top. Axtually Rebels will look different with different skin tones, very bright on fair complexions and a little deep on medium to dark complexions so I can safely say that this colour will suit all, which is also the case with REB 02.

Green Graffiti 804

This is a pastel green jelly based nail polish with pastel blue and peach hexes. To get the true colour you need 3 coats and it stays for a good 6 day wear time. These can also be used as a top coat. As they say “nail art in a bottle”. Its a nice hassle free concept for nail art fans.
