MATRIX Opti-Care Split End Serum Review

Hair serum is a must for my chemically treated and fizzy hair. I have been using MATRIX opti-care range past one year. I was never very fond of Matrix’s serums (Biolage regular line to be precise) until one day my salon lady asked me to try this variant. Of course this range is for someone with chemically treated hair, but be happy as MATRIX split end serum can be used on normal hair too. The best thing is it won’t hurt your pocket!

My Experience With MATRIX Opti-Care Split End Serum

Regular use of this Split End Serum repairs and prevents hair from future split ends. Although I never suffer from this problem but I can definitely say it helps and protects hair from any damage.

I am mostly out in horrid weather and shampoo, conditioner is not enough. We definitely need something extra which can refine the texture of our hair and make them strong and healthy. The intense formula of this Split End Serum and its ingredients like Shea butter, silk amino acids, apricot kernel oil etc. help condition hair, repair damage and smooth frizz for healthy, sleek hair providing hi-gloss shine. The main Ingredient in this range is Shea Butter which makes hair frizz free and smooth. I have already finished up 5-6 bottles of this so far and seriously I am very much happy to see the results. On my chemically treated hair I definitely need extra protection. It detangles my hair after every wash and keeps them manageable until next wash. I never expected much from this product as I was always loyal to my L’Oreal professional products for hair care. But I was wrong, MATRIX Opti – Care Smooth Straight Split End Serum imparts shine to my hair and keeps them soft and smooth.

Packaging: MATRIX Opti-care Smooth Straight Split End Serum comes with a pump dispenser which makes it travel friendly. The pump works well in dispensing the right amount of the product. You would need 2-3 pumps depending on the length of the hair.

Do remember one thing this is not a scalp treatment; serum should be used on hair shaft not on scalp or close to scalp area. Otherwise it can make your scalp greasy and hair flat. Split End Serum is thicker than my L’Oreal Serum therefore I need very less quantity. The best way to use hair serum is on damp hair i.e. after shampoo and conditioner. Matrix’s Split End Serum helps to run fingers through hair easily. Now  there is less or no breakage of my hair now and makes my hair manageable till the next wash!

I will give 5/5 for split end protection. As the name suggests, it actively protects hair from future damage and prevents split end. It is always recommended to trim your hair every 3-4 months to avoid split damages.

Turn Off: MATRIX Opti – Care Smooth Straight Split End Serum

1)   Too much of it can make your hair greasy and flat. Anyways everyone knows that 2 -3 pumps are enough.
