Hey Gurls,

Today I am gonna talk about one of my first MAC concealer, Mac Studio finish Concealer!  It was during those days (each month) when you actually need something to hide your blemishes. NO, I don’t have dark circles but PMS and lack of proper sleep can make you look like a zombie. I generally don’t use any sort of concealers but some days my skin looks a little tired and sometimes I get rashes too. I brought this concealer as it gives full coverage.

???????????????????????????????

???????????????????????????????

Let’s see what MAC says:

A lightweight, creamy, discreetly opaque concealer. Provides a smooth, long-wearing invisible coverage for all skin blemishes. Water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic. This emollient-based, lightweight concealer is so concentrated that a tiny amount can provide opaque coverage of the skin’s imperfections and discolourations. It effectively covers dark circles, blemishes, moles, tattoos and birthmarks. Enriched with antioxidants (derivatives of Vitamin A and Vitamin E), it also contains silica to help absorb the skin’s oils. Concealer has broad spectrum SPF 35 protection and is available in a wide range of colours. It can be applied with a medium to firm fiber brush (try the 242 Shader Brush), a latex sponge, or the fingertips.

Price:  1200 INR   at the time I bought it. (Price may have increased now) OR US$18.00.

Net weight: 7 g / 0.24 US oz .

My Experience With MAC Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35 – Shade- NC42

???????????????????????????????

???????????????????????????????I find MAC Studio Finish Concealer to be very versatile. It is meant for dry skin but oily-combination skin can use this too. It is a cream concealer, with spf 35 (Photographs well, nice for flash photography.) and is Water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-acnegenic which is quite appropriate for oily-combination skin types. Also, it contains silica which provides oil controlling effect!

Mac’s Studio finish Concealer gives full coverage foundation and is also quite light on skin. Although too much of it can look cakey.

I found that MAC Studio finish concealer is loved by many makeup artists.

Concealers are meant to hide blemishes, dark circles, spots, discolorations etc. We often tend to use same concealer shade for every area which can look ashy or even accentuate the flaws.

MAC MUA matched me to NC30-35 for face concealing and NC 42 for under eye area. I opted for NC 42 and happily came back home. I tried couple of times to test it in different ways but everytime it looked little yellowish on me. But that’s ok I know how to fix it. I tried working on my face to see how it looks; yes it hides any redness around my nose but again it leaves the area a little ‘Yellowish’. Dusting some translucent powder helped a bit.

It gives an opaque coverage on first application. I use my Kryolan brush to apply and then blend out the edges with my fingertips. Setting your base (i.e foundation and concealer) with powder is very important to increase its longetivity. MAC Studio Finish Concealer gives me 6-7 hours of weartime in humid weather too. It is quite moisturizing which sets as semi-matte finish but keeps up the hydration level for very long time.

COSMOCHICS RATING: 4.3/5

INFO ON A SILVER PLATTERYes, I do recommend Studio Finish concealer to everyone. Those who want light/medium to full coverage, this is it!!! It can be used on both face and body. The only suggestion is, MAC has vast shade range and you must match it properly to your skin shade before splurging. 7gm is way too much to finish! 🙂

  1. I have normal skin and few blemishes on my face i have used some other good brand concealer but they doesn’t work on that and now i heard so much about MAC and i would like to try it

    1. Mac and Estee Lauder have amazing concealers if you are on a lookout for some heavy duty ones. L’Oreal true match concealer also works really well. If you have some serious blemishes to hide then try using a color corrector before the concealer for better results.
