Hello my beautiful ladies- how are you all?

Today I am going to review one of my most used lipsticks in summer – MAC Satin lipstick RETRO. Its not from Retro matte collection, it’s from their Satin range. Many of use often misunderstand the name.

retro5What MAC says: Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.

Price:  1190 INR OR $16 USD.

Quantity: 3gm OR 0.1 US oz

My Experience with Mac Satin Lipstick Retro

MAC describes “MAC Satin Lipstick RETRO ” as muted peachy-pink brown with satin finish. I absolutely agree with that. On me it looks medium-dark pinkish brown with peachy undertone. Formula is completely opaque in just 1 or 2 swipes. Wonderfully hides any pigmentation on lips. Retro is the shade mostly used by me and my mom as well. She loves it on her too 🙂 . This is more mature kind of shades which may or may not be liked by all. This shade is my Mom’s staple and  she uses it the most. I need to pair it up with matching dress in order to balance my look 😛

retro7MAC Retro has an earthiness to the shade which makes a perfect MLBB shade for some deep skin i.e. those who are NC45 and higher. Staying power is more than 5-6 hours with or without any meal. The reason I mentioned both because it can survive heavy meals as well. Perfect shade for daily wear. Satin finish makes it long lasting and non fading. It doesn’t smudge from sides neither I saw any budging. Although I always prefer touch –ups after each meals. The formula keeps my lips moisturized and non drying. Satin is a formula I always loved for its smooth and soft finish. Glides on lips like a dream giving and opaque and long lasting finish. It’s neither dry not creamy!!

    1. Not compulsory for higher edge ppl. you shld know how to carry those shades thats all you need 🙂

    1. Hi Su! Not sure but Wet N Wild Spiked With Rum is considered to be a dupe. However do check swatches at the store or online. Also, online reviews says that Maybelline Rum Riche is a dupe too. I have not used any of these shades personally but just referring through online/YouTube reviews and dupe alerts. It is always better to check yourself before buying.
      Hope this helps 🙂
