MAC Prep+Prime BB Beauty Balm with SPF 35: Price, Review & Swatches

I am a big fan of lipsticks, it is one thing which can instantly change my look. I love bold shades and that’s not a secret anymore.  I am never a heavy makeup person; I love to use very light products as a base. I hate applying liquid foundations don’t know why but I hate. BB creams are best answers to that natural looking skin. I loved my Deborah Milano 5-in-1 BB cream SPF 20 Shade #02 (review here) and then wanted to try MAC Prep+Prime BB cream for a change. Let’s see how it is… 🙂

My Experience With MAC Prep+Prime BB Beauty Balm with SPF 35

The first thing that really impressed me is the coverage this BB cream gives. You will need less than a pea size quantity for your entire face!!! (First layer of course). I swear by MAC’s Quality, it never disappoints! The price is ofcourse high but the amount you need will last more than 6 months even if the usage is daily and 10 (months) to 1 year for occasional outers. I am the later obviously and therefore the price is justified. It has got extra skin care benefits like UVA/UVB SPF 35 defense.

MAC Perp+Prime BB Beauty balm basically falls under the category of primers. It can re-texturize & smoothen out the skin and act as a primer under your foundations. I apply it as a normal BB cream and top it over with setting powder, that’s it. It last me for more than 7 hours on a normal peaceful day. But on most horrendous humid summer day it doesn’t last me more than 2-3 hours, that’s the only saddest part of my MAC BB cream. Ofcourse not everyone sweats like me. MAC BB cream is one of those most raved products that everyone swears by and honestly I am sold by its texture and coverage.

The texture is light weight, non –sticky and smooth. It blends into the skin like a dream. The cream is medium to thick consistency and gives ultra smooth finish on skin. MAC BB creams are mostly for Oily skinned and I have dry –combination skin depending on weather. During summers, my T-zone gets oily and therefore it suits me best. The best part is it doesn’t oxidise and although it has SPF it won’t give you flash back. Coverage wise it is Medium to buildable. Those who have quite healthy skin, one layer would be enough.

Any dark spot and blemish needs to be concealed first. I love how it looks on me- quite sheer to medium, natural finish yet blemish free look.

• Look at the packaging… Black…classy! MAC’s Packaging is always black but if you look closer it has some green pigments in it too. 😛
• Need less than a pea size quantity… Awesome coverage.
• Although price is stiff but since the BB last’s for long time, I am okay with it.
• Love tube type packaging.
• Medium to buildable coverage.
• Blends like a dream.
• Smooth and light weight texture.
• It’s a medium –thick cream which can cover minor flaws.
• Contains SPF 35. NO Flash backs!!!
• Staying power is good. Can be used as a primer under foundations for that even look.
• Gives natural looking skin.
• Doesn’t make skin oily. No break outs!
• Overall I really like the products.

• Doesn’t provide high coverage.
• It clogs pores to some extent.
• Not for who sweats a lot… A lot means a lot!!

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”– Yes ofcourse, I recommend this BB cream especially to those who have oily skin. MAC is popularly known for their huge shade range, be it foundations, concealers, Fluidlines or Lipsticks. BB line was missing and they nailed it. “MAC Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm SPF 35” is a great all-in-one product.
