MAC Face and Body Foundation: Review & Swatches

I am very excited and happy to review MAC Face and Body Foundation. I know I have mentioned before so many times that I hate to use liquid foundation on my face but this product has changed my mind completely.

I have heard nothing but good things about this product from so many beauty bloggers, Youtubers and as per makeup artists it is a staple base product for them. Since I don’t like to use liquid foundation on my face I was not that keen to try this product until one day I tried this product on my face and fell in love with this stuff. It took time to really prepare my mind and after lusting for this foundation, I finally brought it in the shade C3.

In the smaller, more portable size a fluid foundation that provides low-to-medium buildable coverage and a flawless, natural satin-shine finish. Skin conditioning, water-resistant and long-wearing. Also available in the classic 120 ml size.  Same Face and Body formula with upgraded packaging

My Experience With Mac Face and body Foundation

This is my first ever liquid foundation and I am glad to find a product that I can ultimately use without any regret.

I hate putting heavy and thick foundation that would end up looking cakey and clog pores at the end of the day. MAC Face and Body Foundation is a boon for those who have dry skin. Since I have dry to combination skin this works best for me. The light weight, sheer coverage and the dewiness of this foundation is what I love the most. This is one of the best foundations voted for photography. It got no SPF therefore best for flash photography. The packaging is completely different from other MAC foundations; it comes with 50ml and 120 ml plastic bottle with a screw black cap. It is more durable and travel friendly but again you have to be careful while releasing the product as the nozzle can get bit messy and result in product wastage.

The consistency of it is runny, slightly thicker than water which makes it easy to work with.

MAC Face and body blends seamlessly into skin leaving your skin look dewy and healthy. The dewiness provides glow to the skin and looks natural as if you don’t have any makeup on!

The texture is very light weight, smooth and doesn’t feel heavy on skin -a perfect base product for daily use. The coverage is sheer to buildable, it did not cover any redness, acne marks, or dark spot but it has an ability to even out skin beautifully. I think if you have great skin to begin with, this foundation is OUTSTANDING. First, this is not a traditional foundation. It is made for the face and body, so it’s thin, but yet, it’s very buildable. You can achieve sheer coverage if you desire, but you can also get medium to buildable coverage depends on how much you buff the product into your skin.

I use this foundation to cover up all my imperfections.

You can use makeup brushes but I prefer using my fingers to buff the product into my skin. The more you blend the product the more you get coverage. Perhaps the sheerness and dewiness of the foundation makes skin look natural, lightweight and luminous. However those who want to cover up dark spots, acne marks, and hyper pigmentations can always use a concealer after this and set it with a powder.  It is best for both humid and winter seasons. It is water resistance and long-wearing therefore it will act as a barrier while you sweat.

It is moisturizing enough to use during winters. It stays put for 7-8 hours on me (during humid weather) but after 4 hours my T-zone needs slight touch-up to reduce the shine. It never made me look greasy instead keeps my skin look dewy yet natural and moisturized for the whole day. I apply and set it with setting powder or a loose powder as my T-zone gets oily during summer.

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”- There are many high end foundations with similar features but MAC is still more affordable and easily accessible. It is highly recommended for dry to combination skin types. Wide range of shade preference for warm and cool undertones starting from C1, C2, C3 C4… C7 and N1, N2, N3… N8. Do not forget to give the bottle a good shake before using the foundation as the mixture of oils and water tends to separate from the formulation.
