MAC Amplified Lipstick ‘Toying Around’: Review, Swatches

It’s been a while since I had reviewed last lipstick 😛 I am so addicted that each time I come up with the reviews and swatches of lipsticks only, but I promise I will mix a lot of stuff now. Today I have something new for you. It’s from a recent MAC Playland Collection, “Toying Around”. 😀

My Experience With MAC Amplified Lipstick Toying Around

MAC describes “Toying Around”- as Hot Coral Pink in amplified finish. There are total 6 lipstick shades released all over the world and 2 more only for Asia… Exclusive. And, India isn’t a part to get those 2 exclusive shades. That’s sad L Anyways out of all 6 lipstick shades I liked “Toying Around” the most. “Red Balloon” which is another lipstick shade from this collection seems to be a Hot Fuchsia Pink which looks cold to me (Pun intended). I have hotter Pink Fuchsia in my collection already. “Toying Around” is hot coral pink with warm undertones. It’s very opaque and true to colour. On me it looks more Orange coral than Coral pink :/

The amplified finish gives a beautiful sheen (remember Mac GAT review here or Mac Impassioned review here) and therefore Toying Around is great. The pigmentation is rich and opaque and gives full coverage in just one swipe. The formula is smooth and creamy, that glides on lips like most of the amplified lipsticks. It is one formula which is neither too dry nor hydrating on lips. I get 5-6 hours of wear time on me if I haven’t munched anything.

I like to repeat couple of swipes on my lips for intense pigmentation! Yes that’s how I like to wear any lipstick. I would say this shade is not for the fainthearted. A bold lip shade with neutral eye is best to pair up. Anyways I am not an eyeshadow person therefore, a kohl and mascara is just I what need.

1)   Very bright almost Orange Coral on me.

2)   Brightens up my face in a nice way 😛

3)   Very unique shade to add to your collection.

4)   Neither Hydrating nor drying on lips.

5)   Gives long lasting wear time.

6)   Fades beautifully.

7)   Does not bleed.

8)   Opaque coverage and rich colour pay off.

Turn Off: MAC Amplified Lipstick Toying Around

1)   Limited edition. Therefore availability is a concern.

2)   Not a shade for the fainthearted.

3)   May clinch on lip lines if your lips are not moisturized properly.

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”- I love all bright shades and this Toying Around is a winner for me. Those who are coral lovers, orange lovers, and bright lipstick lovers then show your love to this shade. With this I am like a kid with a new toy! 😛

Note: If anyone is confused between MAC Impassioned and Toying Around then think this way: Impassioned has more of pink tones to it and Toying Around is more orangish (if that make sense) 😉
