I had almost given up on drugstore foundations especially in terms of full coverage because most of them look cakey and unnatural but ever since L’Oreal has launched the new L’oreal Paris Infallible 24h Foundation, the beauty gurus all over the internet have been raving about it and I was quite intrigued to try it out myself.

What L’Oreal Claims :

I am matched to the shade 140 Golden Sand. 

My Experience with the L’oreal Paris Infallible 24h Foundation : 

The Packaging of this foundation is simple and sturdy. It comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser which makes it non messy, hygienic and wastage proof.

The Texture is thick but it blends easily, I have tried working with it using a beauty blender, Sigma F 80 brush and with fingers, it blended well in all the cases. One suggestion though, it dries and sets very quickly so it will be better to work in sections.

Coverage wise I feel that this is a medium to heavy coverage foundation, lt will cover most of the flaws in one layer giving an even skin however it can be built up if heavy coverage is required. With two layers of this foundation I experienced that the coverage was heavy but even and did not look cakey but after a few hours you will notice a few cracks here and there for e.g.. laugh lines, so I recommend using one layer of this foundation and covering up the rest of the flaws with a dab of concealer for a more natural look.

Finish is semi matte for this one, like somewhere between matte and dewy which looks great. Even though the shade is a perfect match for my skin tone, I feel that it gives an unnatural finish when applied fresh, however after about 30 minutes when it blends with the natural oils of your skin, it looks flawless and more natural and radiant.If you have dry skin I suggest scrubbing and moisturising your face before using this product as it can accentuate dry flakey areas and can create trouble in blending as well.

Staying Power for this foundation is awesome. I haven’t tested it on the 24 hour scale but it did give me a decent 11 hour stay which is great.The foundation also oxidises a bit with wear time but looks good anyhow.It does not melt down at all and does not transfer on your phone initially but after 5 hours or so if you use a blotting paper, you can see some of it transfer on there.

Shine Control is one parameter where it did not stay true to its claims. It does not give any shine initially but after about 4-5 hours you can see your T zone getting oily and has to be topped with a setting powder. for oily skin it can be even before 5 hours.

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”

L’oreal Paris Infallible 24h Foundation is a great drugstore foundation if you are looking for a medium to heavy coverage foundation. I highly reccomend using a primer underneath this product and you will definitely like it for the results it offers. Dry skin types need to prep their skin before application and use a setting spray for a more natural finish. If you have mastered the art of blending this one and using it as per your skin type, you will love it for sure.It took me around 5 applications of test and trial to start liking this foundation and now I will be reaching out for this one if I have a special event to attend.
