Wish you a Merry Christmas Everyone,
L’Oreal Paris has come up with the La Palette in two variants, Beige with brown shades and Rose has pink and mauve tones. The buzz around is that La Palette Rose offers loosely similar shades to the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette which unfortunately is not available in India, but if La Palette is even remotely close……it has to be tested.

My Experience With L’Oreal Paris Color Riche La Palette-Rose
The packaging is impressive. Its classy, sleek, sturdy with a decently sized mirror. It also houses a double ended brush which has a useless sponge tip at one end and the brush at the other end is no good either.
The La Palette Rose consists of 10 shades out of which 4 are matte, rest is all shimmer. It has warm rose tones including peaches, pinks and purple, the shade selection looks impressive on the palette.
Texture wise, these eyeshadows are very soft and powdery but not buttery and pigmented like urban decay. Talking about shades and pigmentation, all the matte shades make up for good transition colours but they barely show up on the eyelids. With the exception of the second last shade that you see in the swatches (the purplish grey one) rest three have to be built up several times to ensure some visibility after which they come off a bit streaky and uneven. The shimmery shades have better pigmentation than the matte ones and they are easier to blend. These are not gritty but still have some amount of fallout. I love the aubergine on the far right, the smokey purple shade in the palette because it shows up beautifully on the lids and is a good change from the regular blacks that you generally get in nude palettes.
TIP: How I make use of this palette is by using a good eye primer on my lids and a colour corrector to cancel out that little bit of darkness on and around my eyelids. This way the colours show up better and last for around 8 hours. Without the primer they last for 4-5 hours on my lids without creasing. Also I use a stiff brush to pack in the colour and to avoid uneven application.

I am a little underwhelmed by this palette. The colour payoff wasn’t impressive at all. The colour range is in the cooler spectrum of nudes and would suit best paler or fair skin tones, olive or dusky tones will find it difficult to pull off too many colours from this palette.
The quality is not bad though but the colours not showing up has to be a turn off. For me, the La Palette Rose was an online purchase but out of curiosity I went to the store to swatch the other set i.e. in Beige and found the colours to have a better pigmentation because the shades were a bit darker.
According to me you can give this palette a miss because I found it to be quite meh but if you are really interested, then I suggest swatching them at the store first.

I really wanted to pick up this palette but I really am not impressed with the pigmentation… I even feel its slightly expensive considering the quality…
