Hey Everyone,

The Lakme Lip Pouts are nothing new to us, these were launched during the Lakme Fashion Week somewhere in August last year. Honestly, I was not too impressed with the range but the shade Victorian Rose was too good to resist so I bought this baby home only for the lovely color.

My Experience With The Lakme Absolute Lip Pout : Victorian Rose

These Lip Pouts come in bright coloured retractable chubby sticks which are no surprise since there are a lot of these in the market, but the packaging is sturdy with a well-fitted cap, so it is well worth toting in your handbag.

The shade range is limited with only 6 shades to choose from mainly belonging to the red and pink family. I wish they had a wider range with some nudes or mauves or lighter pinks. These have a slightly weird smell which stays for 15 minutes, its fruity but weird.

Coming to the texture, these are really dry. When you swatch the lipcolor on the hand, it goes on smoothly but gives a patchy, uneven finish on the lips. It needs multiple passes to get an even, opaque finish. It tends to settle into fine lines and become even drier as the time progresses. They do transfer and the staying power is only 3-4 hours because after this they start fading from the corners and the centre of the lip, which obviously needs a retouch. The dryness issue can, however, be sorted out by exfoliating and moisturising the lips before application.

The shade victorian rose is what stood out for me in the entire range. It’s a lovely mix of orange and pink with red undertones that will suit every complexion.

“Info On A Silver Platter”

I really liked the pop- tints by Lakme that were introduced back in 2012, and had high expectations with these too, but the formula is pretty average and definitely not for people who suffer from dry lips in general. You can buy them if you are a matte lip lover and want something that is not too expensive and easily available. I’d say that the quality justifies the price but by adding say 200 bucks more, you can get a better formula also a wider shade range to choose from.
