How To Apply Red Lipstick, A Beginner’s Guide to Wearing Lipstick: Step By Step Tutorial

Red lipsticks are always considered to be classy, elegant and sexy. It depends on the skin tone which red lipstick would suit you better. Many girls/ladies feel uncomfortable wearing bright reds and hence move to pick shade which has mix of reds in it. I know only 2 universal reds about which the whole world talk – One its MAC RUBY WOO and the other is MAC RIRI WOO. Both look very similar to each other but are slightly different in terms of shade.

Anyways Today I will be doing a Step by Step Tutorial on How to Apply Red lipstick, its for beginners. 🙂  Follow the steps and get perfect red lips that don’t require constant touch-ups! 🙂

You will need:

• Lip balm. (I used here EOS lip balm).
• Red lip liner. (I used here bourjois lip pencil shade 14).
• Red lipstick. (I used here MAC RIRI WOO lipstick).

Step 1: Prep your lips well before applying any lipsticks. You can apply lip scrub and moisturize your lips overnight for those healthy plump lips. I have dry lips and I love scrubbing my lips with my homemade lip scrub and always use a lip balm before applying any matte lipsticks.

Step2: Line your lips accordingly. Don’t be in hurry! Lined  lips not only help define your lips well but also give a fuller look and provide a good hold on lipsticks. It brings out natural shape of your lips. I have first lined my lips with my Bourjois lip pencil shade 14.

Step3:  Then start filling in the pensil shade and covere your  lips completely with it. This process will make your lipstick last longer too.

Step4: Now take the Red lipstick. Here I have used MAC RIRI WOO. You can take any of your favorite lipstick. Those who are beginners can take a lip brush and apply lipsticks slowly starting from the lip lines, make sure you cover lip liner well. Then move inside filling your lips with lip colour. Again your lips should be covered fully with lipsticks. Keep layering unless you get your desired colour.

Step5: You can apply lipstick directly if you feel comfortable. I used the bullet straight on my lip lines.  And I am done! 😀
