Hello, my lovely friends, I hope you all are doing very well. Today, I felt like sharing a story with you guys and so here I am with a piece of writing that I hope you enjoy. To give you a gist of the story, it is about a girl in the city, her friends and the role played by a delivery service named Dunzo. If you are not aware, let me tell you that Dunzo is an app that actually helps you change the way you move things and how you shop in your city, especially when you are running short of time.
Yes, you read that right. Keep reading this story within a story to know how the angles meet.
Sometime back when I was working and I could actually make both ends meet through the monthly wages known as salary, I knew a person in my office who was very serious about her job. Now, why am I mentioning the wage? Is it a piece of the real story? No, not really ???? but a story without drama is no story at all…right!
Anyway, moving forward.
This girl was so serious about her job that she would spend 14 hours in the office. She was like a manager’s delight and a company’s so-called asset.
Reaching to the top level was her only dream and doing that asap was her only concern. I actually used to think that one day she will reach a point of nervous exhaustion, because honestly who works that hard? And more importantly, for that many hours in a day, every day! Didn’t she know that all work and no play make Jill a dull girl!
Truly, as I feared, she lost all her social abilities which resulted in a dull personality. She spoke to no one and only worked, and then came a day when she had to give her presentation. A presentation that could not go wrong. A do or die situation you know. (Well, now being a mom of a 2-year-old, I face this situation every day, but this is not my story)
Moving forward to tell more…
She had all that it needed to be at her best. Effective presentation skills to present her ideas and plans on the project. And the confidence to deliver it in front of the audience and the team.
But, alas, it was a day when our “girl in the city” was put to test.
When we were 1.5 hours away from our big show, she realised that she forgot her laptop and charger at home! She started panicking and though there was an apparent cause for it, still I felt that this episode could only happen to a person who is in fear and is under tremendous pressure. And this turned out to be a crazy circumstance!
She (our protagonist of the story) shared with us what she had forgotten (her laptop & charger obviously) and told us that she actually suffers from a panic disorder. And it can take a bad turn if the situation is not resolved at the earliest.
Of course, because now she doesn’t have control over her emotions, but her emotions control her.
Now, going back home to pick up your stuff in Bengaluru or any other big city is really not an option. We needed more time to deliberate about it. Because of the traffic jams that we face during commute every day, it was a difficult situation.
And just when we thought we lost the battle, one of our colleagues introduced us to this delivery service.
So, my friends meet the real hero here, Dunzo.
My colleague Vijay logged in to his Dunzo account and entered the pickup address which was the girl’s home address. It was easy, he had to pick an item category and started tracking the order. Within an hour the laptop and charger were delivered to our office!
The situation was under control and the girl lived happily ever after! Well, that is not the full story. If you wish to know about the girl more you have to wait for my next article “the girl in the city” part 2.
But let us talk more about this delivery service Dunzo, as I use it more than any other app now!
I often shop from my favourite online stores and I opt for a pickup delivery at the store in Phoenix Market City Bengaluru, a mall which is 25 km away from my home. The pickup is done by the Dunzo guys! As who would like to go out in this insane traffic! Psst…this way I get all online discounts which are usually not available at the store, and get it picked up and delivered home on the same day! Woohoo, I am an accounts and commerce student, can I go wrong in calculations? You bet!
Dunzo does not just deliver the items that you forget at home or in the office but can also pick up your food orders, daily groceries, fruits and vegetables, medicines, meat and fish, pet supplies, gifts etc., and deliver it within 1 hour! And they can deliver anything with no minimum cost 24/7. How cool!
As a new member, I also got an opportunity for a limited period of free delivery service. They are currently serving in cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Pune, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Chennai and Noida. They also plan to expand in Mumbai soon.
Now Dunzo is not just good for people like me, who wants to get the groceries and forgotten keys delivered, but it is also for small businesses who think that delivering their own products to their consumers is a challenge.
Guys, please know that Dunzo has helped many entrepreneurs, where delivering the products on time is an essential part of their business.
So, if you are a business owner and want your products to be delivered to your consumers on time, signing up for Dunzo (B2B) will be a lifesaving technique as it is way cheaper and economically effective for your business than setting up your own delivery service. You can work through your desktop or a laptop if you are a business, as Dunzo knows that a professional business would require more than an app.
They have already helped businesses like Plush – a floral gifting company, and Ootabox – a home cooked food aggregator.
I think that Dunzo is a really pleasing service app. Download it and try it yourself to ease daily activities in your life!
Until next time, this is me Shivi looking back and thinking what to share next here. Keep yourself safe and happy! Bye-bye…
