Everyone could not fit into Cinderella’s shoes, Right? same goes with clothes, to enhance your personality you’ve got to identify your body shape and buy clothes accordingly. Here is a complete guide to buying tops/shirts according to your body type.

Apple (bust heavy with a wide waist)

Wear long sleeves or three-fourths with v-neck or you can even opt for empire waist to obscure the wide belly area.

Always buy a size up to avoid tightness around the tummy area. Length should be medium to hide the tummy completely but not the hips. You can wear dark colours to create an illusion of a slimmer torso. You can also opt for peplums to accentuate the upper narrow part of your waist and hide the broader area.

Avoid: boat neck, sleeveless, tight fits esp. around the tummy area.

Pear (bottom heavy)

Buy loose shirts and cinch them around the waist. Wear boat necks or square necks to look a little heavy on the top.For the sleeves choose batwing or cape or puffy sleeves to make shoulders look wider and balance the hips.Length should be 3 inches below the belt of your bottom, not too big else u will kill the curve at your waist.

The key is to accentuate your top half and look less bottom heavy. Wear fun colours and prints to draw attention towards the top half.

Avoid: tight shirts, dark colours.

Hour Glass (equal hip and bust with a narrow waist)

This is the ideal shape and the key for this body type is to flatter the curves.Wear well-fitted clothes that move with the natural curves. Wear fit button down shirts with V-necks. Buy Stretchable materials that hug the figure and draw attention to the narrow waist. Wear solid colours or vertical stripes. You can even wear belted and wrapped shirts.

Avoid : clothes that create bulk and boxiness, stiff fabrics, boat necks they make you look top heavy, avoid ruffles and bows.

Rectangle/Column (same hips and bust with very little waist)

To avoid looking boyish wear ruffled and frilly shirts that create an illusion of curves. Wear high necklines and bright colours. You can add belt to create shape. you can even try knotted shirts.Wear loose flowing top fabrics with tight bottoms

Avoid: very tight fitted fabrics
