Hello Everybody,
I spotted the Gel Envy Nail Enamel at the Revlon counter.Gel nail paints are not a new concept anymore. When Lakme launched the gel stylists(coral rush, pink champagne, tomato tango), I had very high expectations with them, now that I get the hang of it, I know that they are not even close to the real gel manicures but are definitely better than a normal nail paint. They are thick to give that gel like feel , they have high shine and last longer than the usual ones which is great because not all have the luxury of getting gel manicures every time…. So we can be happy with something that is gel-like 🙂

My Experience With The Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel High Roller:
I picked up the shade high roller which is a true eggplant color. I wanted to buy this shade from a long time but was not able to find the perfect one so when I saw this bottle in the gel envy range, I didn’t even have to think twice.
This is not a summer shade, if you categorize shades according to season but I don’t really mind.Revlon Gel Envy Enamel come in 30 shades along with a Diamond Top Coat but I did not see all of them together at any counter (you can check out all the shades here and also buy at a discounted price). They have a beautiful selection of dark shades, pastels as well as bright pop of colors.
The consistency of these nail enamels is thick but they dry quickly ( note: with gel nail paints you may feel that they have dried, but you still need to give them some time to cure to avoid scratches and finger prints…you know what I mean right? )The application is non streaky when you apply two coats, one coat might not give the desired result, The brush is flat and rounded at the end which makes the application easy.Being a dark shade, high roller is opaque, however two coats are still recommended. These paints have a very glossy finish. If you have a closer look at the bottle, you will see microscopic shimmers but on application they disappear, maybe that is the reason for the high shine effect.I noticed some bubbles on one nail but that might be due to application glitch as it wasn’t there on all the nails.
The staying power is great, gave me a wear time of 4-5 days without chipping or without loosing much of the glossy finish ( this can vary from shade to shade and also the amount and type of work you take from your hands) and ya….how could I forget, they claim that the formula consists of a base and color hence the base coat is not required!!!
Turn On : The Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel High Roller
– Long wear
– High shine
– Beautiful array of shades to choose from.
– Chip resistant ( I am guessing it will last longer with a top coat, will update soon)
– Base is not required as the formula already consists of Base+Color
Turn Off : The Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel High Roller
– These stain the nails slightly ( mine was a dark shade, cant comment for the lighter ones. will update if I buy a light hue)
“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”
I like this range from Revlon mainly because of the color palette and the staying power. I am buying the Diamond Top coat because I am sure it will enhance the performance of these enamels.

This is such a nice shade, I wish Revlon would have done something to avoid the blue staining.
same here ….but the stain was mild….
I skipped on these after seeing the price and keeping in mind my last bad encounter with the parfumerie nail polishes from revlon!

Such a nice dark shade…It would be a good chage from a black. I think I might add this to my winter stash 🙂
