L’Oreal Paris has recently launched their Colour Riche Collection Exclusive La Vie En Rose Signature Collection in the Indian market. The range includes 12 custom-made matte pinks – 5 extraordinaire Mat lip glosses and 7 moist matte lipsticks. If that’s not enough, they even have three gorgeous nail paints in the collection!!!

My Experience With The Collection Star Range

The La Vie En Rose is a celebrity inspired collection and each product is autographed by the ambassadors endorsing that particular colour. The collection consists of various shades of pink which is a classic, timeless and every girls favourite colour.

L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pink Moist Matte Lipsticks 

These lipsticks come in classy black matte packaging with a golden rim. The Exclusive Pinks Collection has seven gorgeous pinks to choose from – Blake’s Pink(coral pink), Aishwarya’s Pink(true pink), Doutzen’s Pink(blue based bright pink), Naomi’s Pink(pale pink), Eva’s Pink(dusty pink), Liya’s Pink(reddish pink) and JLo’s(Berry Pink).

These lipsticks are not that great as far as pigmentation is concerned and need multiple passes to show the true colour. The dark shades are still better but the lighter ones need many swipes to go opaque especially on pigmented lips. The texture is soft matte or velvet matte as they say, hence they don’t feel drying and all the shades have shimmer particles in them which are not too loud but they impart a slight sheen to the overall finish. They also have a faint fruity, flowery smell which I personally don’t like but it fades away in some time. Lasting power is 3-5  hours depending upon the shade – light or dark.

These lipsticks are extremely soft, as you can see from the picture below, the slightest of pressure can bend them so be careful otherwise you can get a heartbreak situation…you know what I mean.

Because I wanted something subtle and not too bright I chose Eva’s pink and Aishwarya’s pink from the collection.

L’Oreal Paris Collection Exclusive Eva’s Delicate Rose – A gorgeous dusty rose colour which is one of my favourites from the collection. It’s a beautiful everyday shade that will look good across all complexions. The shimmer in this shade is obvious, it settles in fine lines and clings to dry patches. You need to scrub and moisturize your lips before using this shade.

L’Oreal Paris Collection Exclusive Aishwarya’s Delicate Pink – A true pink which will look good on fair to medium skin tones but not that great on dusky complexions. The shimmer is not visible in this shade and the texture is more creamy hence it does not settle much in fine lines.

J Lo’s pink and Blake’s pink are super pretty but I did not pick them because I felt I had similar shades.

L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Collection Star Pinks Extraordinaire Mat

Comes in a matte black & golden packaging with a see-through window that will help to identify the shade of the lip gloss. Available in 5 gorgeous shades – Fan Bingbing(Peony- dusty rose), Gong Li(Lilac- bubble gum pink), Julianne(Magnolia- Berry), Katrina(Orchid- fuchsia) and Sonam(Azalea- coral pink)

I picked up CPM4 Lilac, that is Gong Li’s shade. The texture is creamy with very subtle shimmer in them. They apply smoothly and feel moisturising but a bit heavy on lips. The pigmentation is good but  this shade goes on a bit streaky so multiple passes are required to get an even finish. The end result is quite glossy and creamy so bring claimed as matte comes as a surprise to me.  Staying power is 3-4 hours depending upon the shade, the gloss fades away but the pigment stays. The fragrance is similar to the lipsticks but stronger which is even more irritating because I don’t like it but thats a personal choice and it fades in some time after application.

L’Oreal Paris Collection Star Gong Li’s Lilac – A bubble gum pink shade with a hint of shimmer which is not too obvious. This shade will look gorgeous on pink lips and lighter skin tones but not too flattering on pigmented lips and darker complexions. Julianne’s Magnolia and Katrina’s Orchid will look great on most of the complexions I feel.

There is no difference in the packaging and quality in case of these nail polishes. They come in three autographed shades

Sonam’s Pink(Dusty Rose), Aishwarya’s Pink(Bright Fuchsia), Katrina’s Pink(True Pink)

I selected Sonam’s Pink  CP27 from the Star Vernis Pinks and I am totally in love with it. It’s  a stunning dusty pink shade which is a great everyday colour and looks very sophisticated too.

Overall I’d say that I had high expectations from this collection after the Pure Reds but this it failed to stand out for me especially in terms of pigmentation. Also I personally don’t like shimmer, these products don’t have very obvious shimmer particles though, but soft matte pinks without any shimmer or sheen with opaque finish would have made this collection oh-so-perfect. Well, that’s just the expectation, coming back to reality, this collection has a lot to choose from and I like the fact that they have catered to both, lipstick addicts and gloss lovers as well so you can easily make a choice coz there always is that one pink, which is just meant for you. You’re worth it!!!!
