Hi All,

I ran out of my blue eye pencil and this is one color I cannot imagine myself without when it comes to eye pencils. I saw these classy looking smokey kajals at the colorbar counter and grabbed one immediately and the fact that it can be used in three different ways makes it a smart purchase. So lets read on to know how smart it turned out to be!!!!!

My Experience With Colorbar Smokey Kajal : Just Blue

These are simple pencils that come with a smudger at the back which is an advantage because in that case you don’t have to hunt for a smudging brush from your kitty however I don’t like the fact that these are not retractable because sharpening the pencils is a pain and wastage as well. These come in 5 gorgeous shades and as mentioned before, I picked up ‘Just Blue’.

colorbar just smoky kajal review & pics

This shade is difficult to describe because it is navy blue with hints of green. On swatching, it looks like black but on smudging it turns into a beautiful matte blue shade. The texture is very smooth and glides like butter on the lids, making the application easy and comfortable. One swipe is good enough to show the color, which I appreciate. This pencil works excellently as a kajal and a liner but coming to the sad part, it sets too quickly, making the smudging process very difficult. I tried to be very quick and nimble but could not get the desired smokey effect and to top it all, the smudge brush provided is not smooth and hurts while smudging 🙁

Coming on the staying power, it stays for good 4-5 hours on my waterline and 8 hours on the lids.It is waterproof and can only be removed by a remover.

COSMOCHICS RATING: 3/5

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”–  I was happy to buy the product because I thought that after this smokey eyes will be a left hand job. But after using this I realized that this is no different than the many other pencils available in the market. This sets so quickly that smudging becomes very difficult and even if you try doing so, it is uneven and untidy.

This one is a no no for me because it cannot be used as an eye shadow as claimed!!!!!!!

  1. Hey garima..I haven’t tried this one from the range but I know one thing..The smudger provided with the pencil is useless.. And it is always hard to work with the pencils that set quickly.. The pencil should be little on the creamier side to get blended well… But this one looks good for the purpose of lining the eyes 😀

  2. I tried few of them at store yesterday , liked the texture so smooth but it set immediately without smudging. and the rubber smudger is stiff and hard too. false claim alert!!

But those who want to apply only as liner its a best option. shades are beautiful as well.
