Tech Alert!!!!!
‘Sparrow Face‘, ‘Side profile‘, ‘pigeon toe‘, ‘perfect pout‘, ‘teapot arm‘ …..does this sound familiar???? Hello Selfie addict, this one is for you!!!!
OPPO has launched a new camera phone this January end, it’s the OPPO F1 Selfie Expert. The selfie trend has become ubiquitous now and tagged as the selfie expert this mid range phone from OPPO, priced at Rs 15990/- targets the generation Y. Flaunting an 8-mp front and 13-mp rear camera, the device proudly boasts of taking clearer and brighter pictures by capturing more light hence giving better results even in less favourable lightening conditions .
It’s really difficult to keep up with technology these days, things are changing way too fast, the rise of selfie generation has given birth to Selfie phones now. I really like the fact that mobile phones are coming with 13-mp cameras, so if you are a photography addict, you don’t need to lug your DSLR everywhere you go. I have been playing around with this device for over 3 days now and here is what I think about this baby. Since this is marketed as a selfie Expert, I will be focusing majorly on the camera in this review.
Camera:
The OPPO F1 houses an 8-megapixel front facing camera with a wide f/2.0 aperture lens and a sensor size of ¼ inches. This allows for more light to enter the camera so you can take a clear selfie even in less ideal lighting conditions.
Well yes I agree, as you can see from the images below (I have not applied any base makeup for these pictures), I have compared two selfies taken in the same light from iPhone 6s and Oppo F1 and need I say more. The selfie taken from the OPPO lens is definitely more bright. The camera does not capture minute details or show true colours (brighter than usual), but hey do we want an ugly zit popping or dark circles staring in a selfie???? I for one, don’t want too many details, it’s a selfie phone after all. If you are still not satisfied the Beauty 3.0 feature brightens and removes blemishes from your face to make you look your best even without makeup. O yes…totally airbrushed without looking muddy and there are three intensities to choose from. Apart from this there are various other filters to have fun with, so don’t worry about your selfies even when you are looking meh.
Selfies taken in low light were a bit grainy, I like the screen flash though. let’s not forget, it’s a mid range camera phone.
The 13-megapixel rear camera takes bright and crisp images however too much of zoom can make the image bulge out a bit. Also if you have shaky hands or you are trying to take a picture on the go then the images turn out to be a bit blurry.
I like the quality of videos and selfie videos especially for the price paid for the device.
