Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus has come up with yet another model in the Zenfone series. It is the Zenfone 2 Laser that supports an excellent camera quality with laser autofocus technology which is feature expected only in high end phones.
Being able to capture crisp and clear images is my first expectation from a phone and we all know why (Blogger life!!!). Next on the list is always a good battery life because I don’t like to see my phone prompting low battery when I am only half way through the day, its seriously annoying to search for charging points or carry portable chargers around. After I check off these criteria’s, I look out for multitasking abilities, elegant design and ease of connectivity.
We were sent this phone to see whether or not it fits into the life of a blogger.
I have been using this device for a couple of weeks now and I am ready to share my experience with you guys.
On the Design front Asus Zenfone 2 Laser does a good job. The build quality is great with a plastic body which is sturdy and a matte finish that does not make it look cheap in quality. Its 5.5-inch HD (720x1280p) IPS display is vivid and offers wide viewing angles. The lock/unlock button is placed on the top and it also has a double tap to wake-up functionally which is quite convenient.The volume button unlike every other phone is situated on the back panel below the camera and I felt that this positioning was quite convenient for one handed use. The Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection used in this phone, safeguards against scratches. The only con I see in the design, is that the capacitive touch buttons are not backlit which doesn’t really matter once you get the hang of the phone but initially its difficult to locate the buttons in the night.
Technology wise it offers an Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system, with Asus ZenUI skin applied on top.It has a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 based chipset, powered by a 1.2 GHz, 64 Bit Quad core processor and a 2 GB worth of RAM. The graphics is handled by Adreno 306.
Well to sum up the technical details in a layman language, it offers a good battery with quick charging ability. The touch response is excellent and the phone is preloaded with many useful apps (some more than required ones too!!!), it also has ZenLink apps to connect the phone to a PC which is great. It does well in the multitasking department and does not become sluggish when too much work is being extracted out of it.
The most interesting feature of this phone is the camera which has served me really well in taking good quality images as a blogger. The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser has a 5 mega pixel front Camera, with large f/2.0-aperture, wide-angle (85”) lens which helps you in taking great selfies, and 13 MEGA PIXELS rear Camera has a large f/2.0-aperture and a 5-element auto-focus lens/ dual-color real tone flash.
The camera offers a lot of modes like beautification, gif, low light etc that lets you have fun and allows you to be creative with your pictures. They are easy to use so you don’t need to fiddle too much with the settings. Now you will forget what a bad shot is!!!!
Still photography is easy but this camera is capable enough to capture good quality moving images as well. The zoom is also excellent and you will not need to compromise too much on the quality of the image while taking a distant shot. The quality of images taken in low light is not highly impressive but not bad either.

With a wide array of smartphones proliferating in the market it becomes very difficult to find a good phone which offers great features and fits your bill. The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser is a great phone if your priorities are a great camera, good battery life and smart looks.
If you are a music lover then I am sorry to say that the sound quality wasn’t too impressive according to me but if you are a college student struck by the selfie craze, a traveller who likes to pack light but bring back all the moments in the form of pictures or a blogger like me then this phone is a great budget buy. It does not totally compare with the high end phones in the market but with features like laser focus and excellent build quality, its no slouch either. According to me its definitely HOT!!!!!!!
This for sure is a best budget smartphone under 10,000 with a great camera quality and other excellent features.

Camera looks impressive though in indoors daylight pictures have too much white light exposure but low light picture is quite impressive 🙂
