Have you ever thought what that one thing that we need to stay healthy is? Of course, a myriad of things crosses your mind. The Sun, water, Oxygen etc. Indeed these resources are a gift of nature to us, and we can’t live without them. However, do know that humans can’t survive without all nine essential amino acids. Protein is one of the nine amino acids that help us build our body and tissues! In this post, I am discussing the five foods that also includes a vegan protein powder which is not just protein-rich food but also very delicious. [Photo by Charlotte Karlsen on Unsplash]

1. Eggs as one of the best protein-rich food:

Whole eggs are good for health. Moreover, they are incredibly nutritious and let’s be real they are easy to cook!

When I started my training, it was more about losing belly fat and not much overall weight loss. My trainer advised that I need to eat three eggs for adequate protein intake per day. Now here is the twist, I was advised one full egg with two egg whites because my trainer informed that Whole eggs consist Protein, fat & cholesterol. However, the egg whites are mostly pure protein with no fat and cholesterol.

Please always ask a trained person when trying a new diet. My diet chart is planned by a trained professional.

Protein content: One egg has only 75 calories but 7 grams of high-quality protein, 5 grams of fat, and 1.6 grams of saturated fat, along with minerals, iron, vitamins, and carotenoids.

2. Chicken Breast: readily available protein-rich food

Now don’t think I am crazy when I say chicken can help you lose that belly weight. Therefore, chicken breast is the most popular cut from the whole chicken! Ahhh…now you know the secret!

Protein content: 100 g chicken breast gives 31 g Protein, 165 grams good calories.

3. Cottage cheese:

A fresh cheese curd product, very high in protein and a favourite of vegetarians, athletes and people who are mindful of what they are eating.

It is not only a protein-rich food but also low in fat, and high in calcium (plays a significant role in tooth and bone health), vitamin B, and vitamin A.

Cottage cheese tastes best when served fresh.

Protein content: One cup of low-fat cottage cheese (with 1 % fat) has a whopping 28 grams (g) protein and only 163 good calories.

4. Vegan Protein powder another protein-rich food

Running short of time and don’t have time to shop for food and cook it? Well, don’t fret as there are tons of protein and whey protein powders that help in everyday fitness.

My trainer advised me a vegan protein powder, and I can’t thank him enough! This one is from Oziva and can be consumed by the entire family irrespective of the age.

In addition to this, the Oziva protein powder is gluten-free, soy-free, non-GMO and also lactose-free. You can add this vegan protein powder to your chapatis or prepare healthy and delicious smoothies.

Unlike carbohydrates and fat, our body can’t store protein, so it has no reservoir to draw from when we’re running low.

Hence, smoothies, shakes and protein bars are a great way to supplement the diet to ensure we are getting the right amount of protein daily. And also when we are in need.

Protein content: OZiva Organic Plant Protein packs 30g of Plant Protein & 5.2g of BCAAs per serving.

5. Almonds:

I kept the most popular and known nut for the last! Also, know as a heart-healthy snack, Almonds are everyone’s favourite. BTW, some say that Almonds are seeds and not nuts. Is that true? Anyways, whatever it is, I am sure I love eating them soaked in water overnight.

Since they are high in protein, fibre & good fat, they actually can keep you full for a reasonable amount of time, avoiding any unhealthy snacking activity any given the time of day.

Protein content: the 28-gram serving of almonds contains (1): Fiber: 3.5 grams. Protein: 6 grams. Fat: 14 grams (9 of which are monounsaturated).

Info On A Silver Platter: “Protein helps in every process of the cell. It is also important for growth and development in all children, teens, adults and especially pregnant women. The above-mentioned super-rich protein food and vegan protein powder help me stay fit.”
