Hey Everyone,
I have used facial oils in the past and totally believe that they work wonders for the skin. I generally discontinue using them when Mumbai is at its humid best but now since its cold and dry, time to discover my love for facial oils again. The Body Shop has recently launched its Oils of Life Range. The Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil from the range that claimed ”99% oils of natural origin” with the luxurious packaging ‘had me at hello’ and this baby came home with me!!!!
What The Brand Says:
Infused with three precious seed oils from around the world, known for their revitalising and repairing properties on skin – Black Cumin seed oil from Egypt, Camellia seed oil from China and Rosehip seed oil from Chile – with a powerful blend of seven essential oils, we’ve created the Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil. The lightweight and quickly absorbing texture leaves a non-sticky finish, melting onto the skin, leaving it silky and soft. Instantly, skin appears smoother, more radiant, revived, revitalized and nourished. After 4 weeks, the signs of aging appear reduced, wrinkles appear minimized, and skin feels more elastic and firm.
Price: Rs 3095/-
Quantity: 30 ml
How To Use: Apply 1-2 drops onto face and neck and gently massage into skin every morning and evening before applying a cream. Avoid eye area.
Note: My major concern before using this product was dryness along with dull, tired looking, ignored and dehydrated skin.
How I use The Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil : Initially I went a bit overboard with this oil because I felt that the recommended 2 drops was not sufficient for the entire face and neck, and then I found it to be a bit heavy, but now I mist my face and palm with thermal water and use 2 drops of oil which then spreads easily. My skin still feels a bit dry so I use cetaphil moisturizer over it along with a sunscreen. You can also add a drop of Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil to your daily cream.
My Experience With The Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil :
This is a rich emollient oil which melts into the skin leaving it silky soft and healthy. This oil is potent and preservative free, it does not irritate my skin or cause any breakouts. It has a rich warm scent which is a mix of all the oils present in it. The smell of olive oil is a bit dominant but it does not contain any artificial fragrance.
Its been around 2 weeks since I have started using this oil in my skin care. Just a few drops can help to nourish and revitalize the skin, making it more radiant, plump and hydrated. I am using this oil twice daily and I don’t feel that it makes my skin greasy (I have dry skin at the moment) but if you have oily skin then you might want to use it only in the night. The beauty botanist for The Body Shop, Jennifer Hirsh says “Like dissolves like” is true with respect to many oils and if you have oily skin one way of gently reducing the oil found on your skin is to use a suitable light emollient oil to effectively dissolve it”, so do not worry if you have oily skin.
At a price point of 3100, this product might seem to be a bit expensive but considering the quantity required, it will last a long time and the results make it worth every single penny spent, I’d rather say, invested!!!
“Info On A Silver Platter”
The cetaphil cream that I was using was taking care of my dryness but addition of this potion as an extra step has worked incredibly for my skin. It feels soft, supple and radiant. My skin feels hydrated and taken care of. I am loving this so much that I have already ordered the Lotion and cream from this range. I am not the right person to talk about wrinkles right now. but because my skin is more plump and bouncy, I feel that my pores have become less visible.
Oils are really beneficial to balance the skin and if you are still sceptical about using oils on your face I suggest going through this link to know about the goodness of facial oils and massages. Oh and watch this cute video to see a dance facial workout with The Body Shop facialist Vanda Serrador.

I really liked the packaging. But I tried this out at the counter and it took quite a while to absorb 🙁

it does take time to absorb when you use it alone. I recommend dampening your face with a toner and don’t use more than 2 drops. that ways it sinks into the skin real quick.
Seems like a great product for my dry skin… I am still am conscious about the price tag though…
