DSCN1011I had heard that using beer to rinse your hair after shampoo will result in beautiful shiny mane. Basically it is a very good conditioner for hair.

My story goes backwards when my dad had left some beer in his glass and my mum asked me to throw it away…. I jumped out of excitement, quickly took a head-bath and rinsed my hair with it…..to my surprise it actually worked!!!!!!!!!!  It left my hair healthy and glossy. Unfortunately I couldn’t buy beer specially to wash my hair and couldn’t rely on leftovers either (lol) so I had put this thought of using beer as a conditioner somewhere in the back of my mind…… After about a decade park avenue comes up with this revolutionary beer shampoo and now nothing could stop me from buying it.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH PARK AVENUE BEER SHAMPOO:

DSCN1025

This shampoo comes in a very attractive packaging which makes it stand out amongst hundreds of shampoos bottle…yes it looks exactly like a beer bottle!!!!!!!!! Even the color is same as that of beer. It has a plastic flip open cap which is convenient but doesn’t close properly; the shampoo can leak if the bottle is not kept upright.

DSCN1012The shampoo is slightly runny and smells strongly of beer which can be suppressed by using a conditioner. Anyhow if you don’t use a conditioner, the smell fades away after about 5 minutes of washing. It lathers fairly, not too much, due to which one ends up in taking more amount of product, but it does a good job at cleaning and comes off easily.

After using this shampoo for about 10 times I came to a conclusion that it made my hair rough and dry. I ended up having a bad hair day ( aaaarrrggggggggghhh !!!!) it managed to add some shine to my hair but wasn’t quite  visible, plus I started losing alarming number of hair strands, which is too much a price to pay for that minimal shine ……..so without any doubt I discontinued using the shampoo.

TURN ON:  PARK AVENUE BEER SHAMPOO:

1)    Containing real beer , I believe this shampoo makes hair shiny (slightly).

2)    Not too expensive for a beer shampoo.

3)    Cleanses properly

TURN OFF:  PARK AVENUE BEER SHAMPOO:

1)    Makes hair dry and frizzy.

2)    Hair fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lots and lots of hair fall…I want to run away from itL

3)    Smell ( I didn’t  like it at all)

4)    Could be disaster for people with dry hair (mine is oily)

5)    A beer bottle alike resting on your bathroom shelf could look odd (lol)

(It can be a turn off for some)

COSMOCHICS RATING:   2/5

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”- PARK AVENUE BEER SHAMPOO DIDN’T DO ANY wonders for the hair . This being the only beer shampoo launched in India, my expectation bar was quite high. This product surely does not live up to the claims.

  1. Even I had read a rave review before but that person had not shared the ingredient list. This one has thalates, solicones and what not and scalp irritants too. I am not surprised that it dries out hair and causes hair fall too. Try Argan oil for your oily scalp or ylang ylang essential oil along with argan to control and regulate the sebaceous glands in the scalp.

    1. As you read in the post Bhumi, I didn’t quite like the product…but if you really wanna give it a try then you can use any conditioner that you like because park avenue does not have any in this range.
