MAC Matte Lipstick VIVA GLAM 1 – Review, Swatches & FOTD

Last time I visited MAC store, never thought I will pick up something which I always ignored previously. Not that I don’t like the shade but it just didn’t grabbed my attention till I saw this shade on one of my dear friend. I decided to check it in store and finally fell in love with another red 😛 – I am talking about MAC MATTE Lipstick VIVA GLAM 1 🙂

Let’s see what MAC says about Matte Lipstick VIVA GLAM : In 1994, M·A·C introduced VIVA GLAM, an outspoken deep red that was universal in appeal and glamour. In 1997, a second lipstick was created VIVA GLAM II, a pinked mauve. VIVA GLAM III, a foxy brown plum launched in 2000. VIVA GLAM IV, a heartful rose charged with gold, introduced in March 2002. In March 2004, Viva Glam V makes its debut, a pure neutral pink with a delicious Lustre finish! VIVA GLAM VI, the newest member of the VIVA GLAM family, is a warm terracotta-plum with pearl finish. Wear it alone or finish it off with a coat of VIVA GLAM VI Lipglass. Every cent of the selling price of VIVA GLAM Lipstick and Lipglass is donated to the M·A·C AIDS Fund to support men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS.

My Experience with MAC Matte Lipstick VIVA GLAM 

MAC describes VIVA GLAM 1 as an Intense brownish- blue based red- in matte finish. It is medium-dark blue based brownish red which leans more towards red. One of the best shade from VIVA Glam collection. This might be a perfect red for those who find themselves a hard time to pull bright reds i.e Ruby woo or Russian red. This one is Immensely pigmented and suits a number of skin tones. The formula is opaque and can easily hide any lip pigmentations. Despite a Matte, it’s creamier and smooth on lips. I don’t feel any tugging or pulling effect on lips like ruby woo. I think it’s between Matte and satin finish. These are extremely pigmented and non drying on lips yet leaves a matte look. MAC VIVA GLAM 1 gives around 5-6 hours of wear time on me. It does need little touch ups from inner side of the lips while you have heavy meals, but hey that’s so obvious!! I usually re-apply lipsticks after my meals so that’s ok with me. The best thing I like about this lipstick – the shade and then the finish. Neither it  accentuate lip lines nor it smudges or budges.

I don’t think anyone should miss this shade, such a wonderful matte brown red which can suit many skin tones. Plus the fact that buying a lipstick give us an opportunity to donate to the M·A·C AIDS Fund to support men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS.
