I personally feel that kohl is the most important thing in anybody’s make-up stash. Beautifully defined intense black eyes, say a million words. I love kohl, and can’t move out without them so in my quest of finding a perfect kohl, I have tried a lot of brands , finally I can say that my journey ends here after buying Lakme absolute kohl.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH LAKME ABSOLUTE KOHL ULTIMATE:
The lakme absolute kohl ultimate comes in a black pencil form with a sharpener on one end and a smudger on the other. The sharpener is attached to the cap of the pencil. The sharpener also has a lid which has a pointed stick attached , it is meant to clean the sharpener.
The kohl is very creamy and soft. It does not tug or pull the skin on application. It did not irritate the eyes or skin, gives a smooth intense black finish (its darker than any other kohl I’ve tried till now) in just one stroke. It definitely is water resistant and can be removed only by using a cleanser or a makeup remover. It is smudge proof, stays in place and does not travel down to give you a ghostly appearance when applied on waterline (this can be a major turn off in kohl).
About the wear time, I would not apply kohl for 16 hrs but yes for testing purpose, I did!!!! Even more than that because I applied it at around 10 a.m and even slept with it.
It stayed fresh on the upper lash line for about 12 hours (whoa!!!!!) After which I felt that the intensity of the black color started decreasing however the kohl was still there in place. It was there even when I woke up in the morning, a little faded though (but this was way beyond 16 hours, so we will not consider this) still had to be removed with a cleanser.
Now talking about my waterline (which is really watery), it stayed there for about 6 hours after which it started fading but the best part is that it did not smudge.
Coming to the Smokey effect, it does not set immediately hence gives you time to smudge for creating a smokey look ( you have to be very quick though), I feel that you have to use a separate tool for smudging because the smudger provided at the back of the pencil is quite harsh on the skin.
TURN ON: LAKME ABSOLUTE KOHL ULTIMATE
1) It is Smudge proof.
2) Its Water resistant as well.
3) Has very intense black colour payoff.
4) Definitely a Long wearing kohl!!!
5) Its creamy, hence easy to applyJ. Multiple strokes not required for the application.
6) Gives a nice smokey effect when smudged.
7) Does not irritate the eyes.
8) Suitable even for contact lens wearers ( I wear lenses).
TURN OFF: LAKME ABSOLUTE KOHL ULTIMATE
1) Only the tools i.e. The sharpener is a little difficult to work with and the smudger is hard.
2) High price:(

i haven’t used a real traditional kohl liner, yet. i’m using one from L’Oreal daily, though. it makes such a nice base for any eye makeup look. 🙂
