CURRENTLY ON MY NAILS- Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail paint in 605 Purple Reign: Review & Swatches

Once when the color of the year 2014 orchid was announced; Google pages, Pinterest and everything else too were flooded with purple color! From the bridesmaids dress, home decor to even the color of the hair was in Orchid shade. From mauve to bright purple, even the dark pinkish purple and reddish purple is categorized as “Orchid” shade. Name derived from the name of a flower that has petals of the same color.

I somehow like the color purple. I was even attracted to a buy a wallet of the same shade few days back!

Shelf Life: It says use before “May 16”

Shade & Texture: The very first application gives a nice soft mauve shade that can be darkened by repeated coats. It becomes a full fledge purple in two coats of the color. The consistency of the nail enamel is very thin and runny but is not streaky. The first coat dries in no time. But when two coats are applied it takes some time to settle and dry. I had to just sit doing nothing as I just picked few clothes and it streaked and kind of peeled off ( guess it was wet)!   The finish is quite glossy and gives a soft touch on the nails!

Pigmentation:  Two swipes and it give a nice purple color. First coat gives a very light shade but I prefer the double coats.

Staying Power: Was expecting it to be more but it started peeling off at the end of the third day. Rest it remained nice and untouched but disappearing at the ends made the manicure look weird and not so good!
