I have never tried any butter on skin except TBS body butters :P. I got introduced to Clinique’s ‘Take off cleansing balm’ but that was way too expensive for me. Last winter TBS launched their new Camomile makeup remover range. I went to TBS to buy some of my favorite body butters when I saw this cute big flat tin sitting on the rack- The Body Shop CAMOMILE CLEANSING BUTTER. I came back home, saw reviews and next day again went back to pick one for myself… 😀 😉

My Experience With The Body Shop CAMOMILE CLEANSING BUTTER

This is my current favorite cleansing butter/makeup remover. I am using this thoroughly and I am glad that I picked it up. It is affordable than other high end cleansing balms or butters (whatever you like to name it). The consistency is like thick solid balm. Seeing the quantity I thought the price I am paying is huge but believe me I am using this for almost 4 months now and still more than half of the product is left in it as you need very less.

I was scared to use it on my eyes to remove mascara, thinking that it may sting but surprisingly nothing happened! It beautifully removes all traces of my water-resistance mascara. It doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. As mentioned it is suitable for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers.

I don’t wear contact lens so can’t comment on that really, but yes for sensitive skin it is definitely a good product. CAMOMILE as you may know has calming properties that is good for skin, hair and stomach. The buttery texture of CAMOMILE CLEANSING BUTTER keeps my skin soft and smooth.

I just rub small amount and all my makeup starts melting.  To remove my mascara I apply small amount on my eyelid close to lash line and wait for 1 minute and gently start messaging. It breaks up all traces of mascara in a minute leaving my lashes soft. After that I take a wet muslin cloth to remove it slowly from my face and rinse with lukewarm water. I was worried that it will make my face oily but it didn’t. The super smooth texture moisturizes my skin leaving it silky and soft. For sensitive skin it is very hard to find a proper cleanser, but this one doesn’t hurt or give any burning sensation. This product is effective in every way. It has a faint camomile scent to it which is very subtle and doesn’t irritate my nose.

FYI : I have included long lasting lipsticks, Lip glosses, Long lasting eyeliner and waterproof mascara in the picture below.

The only problem is the tin tub packaging which apparently is not hygienic at all. Every time you dig in fingers you introduce “Water, other microbes and bacteria”. Eeewwww!!! I prefer tube packaging at least for my skin care products.
