Mac Pleasure Bomb: RIRI Heart Holiday Collection Review

I know it is quite late to review this shade but trust me girls you won’t be disappointed. It’s been quite some time that I bought this absolute dream shade. I was continuously using it almost every day since the day I got it.  It is none other than “ MAC PLEASURE BOMB “ from MAC RIRI Heart Holiday Collection. Yes, finally!  It’s such a pleasure to have this shade in my collection!! There are 2 reasons why I called it a bomb- firstly, the name says “Pleasure Bomb” and 2^ndly …It cost me a bomb; I had to pay more than the double price to get it. Well, you can call me crazy to spend so much on a lipstick 😛

WHAT MAC SAYS: Rihanna’s latest creative collaboration with M·A·C is a series of stunning looks for lips, eyes and face in shades of metallic majesty and confident colour. This limited-edition collection is encased in exclusive white-pearl packaging with RiRi’s iconic rose gold detailing. Wrapping it all up, the pink metallic sheen of the RiRi ♥ M·A·C Makeup Bag in a quilted design, uniquely Rihanna.

Price: Each lipstick from this collection was for 1100 MRP but sadly MAC Pleasure bomb was missing from the collection. It didn’t launch here in INDIA.  I had to pay a more than 2.5K *coldhead*

My Experience With Mac Pleasure Bomb Lipstick

MAC describes “Pleasure Bomb” as “matte fuchsia” with a matte finish. It is highly pigmented brightened fuchsia I have ever seen. Mac Pleasure Bomb looks very vibrant on the face. It has medium to deep coverage with both warm and cool undertones to it. The shade is so gorgeous and I saw the whole blogging world going gaga over it.  I don’t know why in INDIA it is not launched…MAC must launch it so that everyone can get it.

The Pigmentation is super rich. I like to double it up for strong intensity though it gives opacity in just 1 swipe.

It has Retro Matte texture, although it is matte like MAC RIRI WOO but slightly creamy, good enough to glide on lips easily. After few seconds it sets as matte finish and leaves a strong tint behind when removed.

“Pleasure Bomb” is extremely long wearing– I get more than 5-6 hours without munching. But honestly I never starve myself that long- 4 hours is max. However I saw it stay put on my lips even after heavy duty lunch. Just a casual fading from inner lips that’s all.

The packaging of the tube is quite different. It is encased in special tube that is a part of RiRi Hearts MAC Holiday collection and crafted with Rihanna’s signature. Infact, every lipstick from this collection has Rihanna’s signature crafted on the bullet!

Turn On: MAC PLEASURE BOMB Lipstick

1)    Though limited edition but the shade is a stunner!

2)    Beautiful classy rose-gold and white packaging with Rihanna’s signature on it.

3)    Superb rich and highly pigmented shade.

4)    Staying power is impressive. Gives 5-6 hours of wear time or may be even more if I can starve myself that long 😉 😛

5)    Mac’s signature vanilla fragrance.

6)    Does not smudge from lip lines.

7)    Rich and Opaque finish.

8)    Can hide any (lip) pigmentation.

9)    Easily dupable – take it as a turn on or off 🙂

What I don’t like about MAC PLEASURE BOMB Lipstick

1)    The launch in India excluded “Pleasure Bomb”  🙁

2)    Can make your lips dry unless you prep it properly.

3)    Availability is a big concern!

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”- Definitely YES! A BIG YES!! This shade is not available here but try and mix two different shades to get this kind of color on your lips!

Here are 2 shades that you can try:  I tried mixing MAC Riri woo with MAC Candy yum yum and it does look quite similar! Dupe!!!

Both are mattes so therefore it will give same matte effect. Frankly, I don’t have patience to mix it each time and therefore I had to buy the lipstick. Anyways… oh btw don’t forget to blot it. 😉
