When I ordered this stuff from Kaya first the “Acne free purifying toner” and this cleanser that I am reviewing today, I had really very high expectations! The toner is a darling! It works nicely on my combination-oily, acne prone, sensitive skin, and helps drying the acne soon however this acne free cleanser didn’t impress me much and here are the reasons!
What the product claims: (as taken from Kaya shop online)
Purifying Cleanser gently cleanses the pores from deep within, removing excess oil, dirt and impurities. It contains Salicylic Acid with acne fighting properties that help reduce acne and prevent future breakouts. Unique Skin conditioners ensure that skin doesn’t feel stretched and dry. A must have for clear, oil-free and healthier looking skin.

My experience With Kaya acne free purifying cleanser
Kaya acne free purifying cleanser is a transparent gel solution in a pump dispenser that smells very refreshing and gives a nice cool sensation! Since it’s a gel yes a little more than the usually quantity is required to make it lather nicely while using on my face. I like the way it clears the dirt and the impurities giving a clearer face after every wash.
I was happy with it and used it for few days until I started experiencing breakouts. Yes it broke me out and the reason behind this breakout is the presence of sles (Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate) as an ingredient. Most sles (Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate) products break out my sensitive skin. 🙁
I was heartbroken as the acne free TONER was working just fine I grabbed its bottle to see the ingredients and the toner doesn’t have sles. So then I stopped all my products I don’t use many anyways especially if I want to test a product on my skin. So I stopped using the acne free toner the only new thing that I was using with this cleanser. And the breakouts didn’t stop! Then I had to stop the use of this cleanser and my skin started clearing out. I then again started the toner and realized that it suited my skin well.
So I concluded that though this cleanser did a nice cleaning job but since my sensitive skin cannot bear sles I had to stop using it.
Swatches –
Turn On: Kaya acne free purifying cleanser
1) Does a nice cleaning job.
2) Didn’t dry out my skin.
3) Easily available through their online shop.
4) Nice refreshing fragrance.
5) Nice sturdy packaging. The cap too is tight enough and stays where it is!
Turn Off: Kaya acne free purifying cleanser
1) SLES products break me out as I have sensitive skin. It was my mistake that I didn’t read the ingredients carefully before buying. And I am confused because SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate) in cleanser/facewash seldom breaks me out! Though both SLES and SLS have almost similar roles in cosmetics!
Take SLES as a little lesser strong version of SLS.
So it may or may not be sensitizing to your skin.
2) Its definitely pricey!
3) Availability may be a concern for some people.
COSMOCHICS RATING: 2.5/5 (I don’t say that it would break you out. The above is my own experience and as I mentioned earlier it may or may not be sensitizing to your skin. Readers discretion required.)
“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”- Kaya acne free cleanser is a gel that cleanses the face and makes it oil free. But more than the cleanser I am impressed with its Acne Free Toner which is a safe bet in my life.
