I just love the weekends, as with the weekends come night outs, crazy parties, lazy brunches, good wine and good food. Food has always been my area of great interest. Right from the childhood days of helping my grandma in the kitchen with her traditional and delicious recipes to my modern time quick fix meals, I just love to experiment with food. I just love browsing through new recipes and adding my variation to it.
So here’s one of my most favorite quick fix meal recipe for this weekend. It’s easy to replicate, not too complicated method and readily available ingredients makes it a child’s play. And the best part is that it’s “Chinese” and I love “Chinese food”, no wonder I’m in love with Beijing already.
SERVES- 4 people
INGREDIENTS-
- 2 onions (diced)
- 1 Green Bell Pepper (capsicum) (Diced)
- 5-6 Garlic Cloves (finely chopped)
- 1 piece (small) Ginger (finely chopped)
- 4 Green chilles (de-seeded) long juliennes
- 4 strands of Spring Onion (finely chopped)
- Chicken (250 gms) cut in small pieces
- 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil
- Ketchup and Chili & Garlic Sauce (Easily available in all super markets)
METHOD:-
Take a deep frying pan and pre-heat it on the stove for 30 seconds, now add 1 table spoon of Olive oil. Add the finely chopped garlic and ginger sauté it till it turns slightly golden in color.
Add the diced onions and chopped chilies and sauté them together till the onion turns soft.
Once the onion gets soft, add the other veggies (Bell pepper and spring onion) Sauté all the vegetables together for 2 more minutes. Now add the chicken and sauté it on high flame till it loses all its water and starts getting white in color.
Add salt to taste and for flavor add one tea spoon of ketchup and two teaspoons of Chili &Garlic paste. Add some water and let the paste boil till the chicken absorbs some flavor and the water turn into a thick gravy paste.
Your Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce is ready, serve it with plain steamed rice…!!! Cooking is fun and experimental, you can always improve by customizing is as per your taste. Bon Appetite…!!!
