The Brindavan Gardens / Mysore Palace Tour & Outfit Of The Day

So if you have read about me (in the tag About Us) above, you would know that I love travelling! And my latest venture was 146 kms away from Bangalore to a city which served as a capital of Karnataka for centuries. Mysore is a city which is known for its “Palace” and the Brindavan garden which is another majorly visited tourist attraction. The entry is charged. You need to pay Rs. 20 for getting inside the Varaha gate and about Rs 35 for each of the section of the Palace which is charged separately, I think. Palace has 4 entrances (4 gates) and the gate name Varaha gate is open for public entry. You can park your car there itself which will cost another 20 bucks. Shoes are not allowed inside the palace. Facilities are there free of cost to keep your shoes/sandals at one place. An audio player is available too, inside the palace, to make you aware of the purpose of the things which are marked with numbers and kept in the palace there. ( will cost another few bucks & an identity card)

The fee Rs 15 is for the Brindavan gardens and the car park is free! A musical fountain also takes place in the garden where the water is synchronized to the music played. I didn’t quite like it. I have seen better musical fountains than this one, but if you are new to it you might like it. Be prepared to walk in both the places i.e. the garden and the palace, as they are really huge and covers acres of land!

Garden Timings: All Week Days: 6.00am to 8.00pm

Music Fountain Show: All Week Days: 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Saturdays and Sundays: 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Here I am wearing a Dhoti-Salwar, it’s a 100 % viscose material and flows down beautifully. It has elastic at the waistband. It’s a great lower to wear during long & short travels.  It’s stylish and traditional with a modern twist. You can pair this with a short top like mine or can go with a bright color kurti as well. I have a bright yellow kurti which I often wear with it! The difference between dhoti and Patiala salwar is that dhoti salwar is tighter at the end and sits at the ankle in layers, where else Patiala- Salwar has a free ankle cuffs( wider than the dhoti salwar).
