FabIndia Under Eye Aloe Vera Gel: Review & Swatches

Once during a visit to the nearest Fab India’s store, a cute little jar kept on the shelf of the store caught my eye. The mint colour of the tub was so beautiful that I couldn’t take my eyes off it. As I held it in my hands the claims on it made me all the more curious and therefore I bought the Fab India’s Aloe Vera Under Eye Gel.

I never had puffiness but my husband suffers from it and therefore this purchase was made keeping him in mind.

What the company claims: This unique formula contains aloe vera gel that reduces puffiness and revives tired looking eyes. Regular use helps reduce dark circles and prevents wrinkles.

INGREDIENTS: Purified water, Aloe Vera extract, glycerine, triethanolamine, carbopol, methyl paraben, propyl paraben.

COST– INR 150

QUANTITY- 25ml.

SHELF LIFE- 3 YRS FROM DATE OF MFG.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH FABINDIA’S ALOE VERA UNDER EYE GEL:

When I was young… I am still young though but, I am talking about the days when I was really very young (lol) I was introduced to a short stemmed ugly and weird looking plant. My neighbor boy called it his pet…yes since he was not allowed to keep a dog or a cat as a pet so he brought home this plant and named it aloe vera. He became a star as he told that he named the plant aloe vera and it’s some sort of super hero character in the west!

Those days I had absolutely no idea that it’s actually an aloe vera plant and he never had the plant baptized!

Anyways gone are the days.

We all are aware of the soothing and healing properties of aloe vera. And when it’s used in a cosmetic product it’s an extra enhancement.

I kept the tub of the eye cream in my refrigerator for some time and when I used it under my eye the first time, I felt an instant cooling effect! Its a transparent gel and it did reduce my husband’s under eye puffiness which was an added advantage. The only thing that both of us didn’t like about it is that it becomes stretchy after some time and constantly I feel as if something is pulling my under eye skin. It’s also a bit sticky even when blended into the skin.

But maybe that’s because the juice of aloe vera is sticky too when extracted directly from the plant. Very less amount should be taken and applied otherwise it doesn’t absorbs well under the eye. 3) It’s so cheap!!! (cost wise)

4) Less amount of it is needed and therefore the product goes a long way.

TURN OFF: FABINDIA’S ALOE VERA UNDER EYE GEL

1) PARABENS! Harmful chemical…presence of it is bad.

2) The gel takes time to absorb if taken more than the needed amount.

3) After some time my eyes feel heavy because it stretches my under eye skin. So I have to wash it off after some time.
